La Jolla Weekend

For the Piglets birthday we went down to La Jolla for a weekend to explore the beach and visit San Diego. We stayed in a small cottage less than a ten minute walk to the beach.
There are hundreds of restaurants within walking distance and we found that the Cottage serves some of the best breakfast.
Popped into CrabCatcher for some snacks. They have some decent clam chowder and stuffed mushrooms.
El Pescador Fish Market. It was kind of disappointing. The staff seemed really annoyed that we decided to eat there, and we had to repeat our order about 5 times before he got it correct. While the clam chowder was MUCH better than that found at CrabCatcher, the popular "Chargrilled Burros" lacked flavor and was pretty bland.
Galaxy Taco. While the food was good, the restaurant was overrun with screaming children and parents that didn't seem to care. Multiple families came in with toddler and infant aged kids and allowed them to run around unattended. Highly recommend the Tres Leches Banana Cake!
Cody's is another place to get some breakfast. Very tasty grub and a bit more laid back atmosphere compared to the Cottage.
Rakiraki Ramen and Tsukemen.
Side trips to San Diego coming up next!
