Los Angeles: tacos & ramen

In August, we took a Canadian friend to the Los Angeles Taco Festival and an overnight trip in LA for a birthday gift. The heat and humidity were high that day, but didn't ruin the delicious taco consumption!

We arrived early and the taco trucks were just getting set up.
More and more people slowly trickled in.
Within an hour there was an hour long wait at most of the trucks, luckily we had already devoured delicious tacos.
So many delicious tacos. Much eat. Very full. Wow.
I think the guy selling these little flavored ice cups was making a killing. With the heat and humidity he was as popular as the taco trucks.
After munching on delicious tacos and having our fill, we set off to walk explore Los Angeles.

While we only lived an hour or two drive from Los Angles (depending on traffic) we had booked accomadations in Los Angeles as there was much to do, and we wanted to enjoy our time and not be rushed. We picked a place right across the street from the Staples Centre as it was a nice area with a lot to do and see within walking distance. We forgot to take pictures of the outside of the building, so the exterior pictures were taken from the Airbnb listing. We kept our own of the interior as we like to show what the place looks like without the extra lighting and touch ups.
After checking in and resting our feet, we headed out to Little Tokyo for some delicious Ramen! We would be dining at Daikokuya a popular noodle shop in Little Tokyo. It was a long wait, as we were there on a Saturday night, but well worth it.
The next morning we set off for Griffith Park observatory and Venice Beach.

We stopped for lunch at Banh Mi in Venice Beach, then headed home.
It was a short and fun trip that was filled with good food, good friends, and good fun. If you are in the area, check out the LA Taco Festival next year!
